![]() ![]() With those two out of the way, I’ll go individually and write down some reasons on why people think Jordan is the GOAT, and why people think LeBron is the goat. And what’s to say LeBron won’t make the NBA Finals again? And for that, I’ll give the edge to LeBron here. But to me, going to eight straight and only having two less rings is very important. Some might give the edge to Jordan for being undefeated and having more wins in the NBA Finals, and that’s fair. One thing to mention is LeBron has went to eight NBA Finals in a row, from 2011 in Miami to 2018 in Cleveland. As for Jordan, he has went 6-0 in the NBA Finals, having two three-peats. ![]() LeBron has been to 10 NBA finals, winning four. Anyway, like I did mention championships, let’s run over that again. Sports media is all about controversy, so I’m here for it. ![]() That may be controversial, but hey, that’s okay. To be honest, both players look amazing on paper, but in my opinion, I’d give the slight edge to Jordan, statistically. Player A would be LeBron James, and player B would be Jordan. For player B, he averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. For player A, he averaged 27.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 1,409 games. To be honest with you, I’ve been debating with myself on who is really the better player, and my friends’ opinions didn’t really help me narrow down the choice. As for LeBron, he has won 4 championships, two with the Miami Heat, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and one with the Los Angeles Lakers. Michael Jordan has won 6 NBA championships, and has not been defeated in the NBA Finals, or whenever he was in a Game 7 situation. There are many views on who is better, and both sides have convincing arguments. Jordan will maintain a minority ownership stake after the completion of the sale. For many years, the LeBron James and Michael Jordan GOAT debate has been prominent. He had been the league's lone Black majority owner, and the best former player to ever own a team. Jordan purchased the franchise in 2010, back when it was still known as the Charlotte Bobcats, for a price of $275 million. We look forward to building upon this success in the years to come." During his ownership, he brought stability to the Hornets franchise, achieved many business milestones, reconnected and reinvested in the Charlotte community and has the organization positioned for greater success. "We want to thank Michael for this opportunity, as well as his support throughout this process. I'm excited about the future of the team and will continue to support the organization and the community in my new role in the years ahead." I know the Hornets organization is in great hands moving forward. As I transition into a minority ownership role, I'm thrilled to be able to pass the reins to two successful, innovative and strategic leaders in Gabe and Rick. Through the years, the unwavering commitment, passion and loyalty of our Hornets fans has been incredible. "I'm proud of all that the organization accomplished: the exciting on-court moments, the return of the Hornets name, Charlotte hosting the 2019 NBA All-Star Game and HSE becoming a true pillar of this community. "The opportunity to be the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets in my home state of North Carolina for the last 13 years has been a tremendous honor," said Jordan. The vote on the sale was 29-1, with New York Knicks owner James Dolan the lone dissenting voice. The team was sold at a valuation of approximately $3 billion, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The team announced on Thursday that the sale of a majority stake in the franchise to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall is complete. Michael Jordan's 13-year tenure as the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets has officially come to an end. ![]()
